These eye care specialists handle clinical and administrative tasks in an optometry office. An optical assistant’s job description may include greeting patients, answering phones, handling correspondence, managing patient records, scheduling appointments, assisting with vision tests, and teaching patients how to use and care for glasses and contact lenses.
