Optical Lab Technician Jobs

Optical lab technicians are in charge of cutting, polishing, and grinding lenses for prescription glasses as well as creating prescription contact lenses. Additionally known as ophthalmic lab technicians, their job descriptions also involve inspecting lenses for defects and monitoring eye care supply inventories.

The median optical lab technician salary is $30,640, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects faster than average job growth at 10%–14% through 2026.
