Join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician, assisting with electrophysiology testing, patient imaging, clinical room preparation, and supply management at our Boston and Waltham locations. Capture and manage ocular images, facilitate patient flow, and support administrative duties within the Ophthalmology Program. Responsibilities also include assisting with contact lens sessions and initial patient intake exams.

Location: Boston and Waltham, MA
The Ophthalmic Technician:
- Assist the electrophysiology team with visual evoked potential and electroretinogram testing.
- Prepare clinical rooms, manage supply orders, and ensure proper equipment and medication storage.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow and organize pertinent documents for clinical areas with precision.
- Capture external, slit lamp, and ocular fundus photographs; edit and upload images to patient records.
- Measure visual fields using automated perimeter, instill eye drops as directed, and measure intraocular pressures.
- Scan and organize computerized patient records/images for the Ophthalmology Program and provide phone/scheduling support and other administrative tasks.
- Assist with contact lens insertion/removal sessions and manage contact lens cleaning/inventory specific to location needs.
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Current registration as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA certification) preferred
- Experience in ophthalmology or a related clinical field is preferred.
- Communication skills to deal effectively with clinicians, administrative staff, and families/young patients and well-developed writing skills
- Keen organizational skills appropriate to supporting a medical office and balancing assigned tasks and competing responsibilities in the normal course of a clinical ophthalmologic setting
- Computer and research skills for tasks of word processing and data coordination
