Eye MD Monterey is located in beautiful Monterey, CA. It was founded in 2008 when Philip J. Penrose, MD took over the ophthalmology practice of Dr. John D'Atilio, who has since retired. Over the past 13 years, Eye MD Monterey has grown to include aside from Dr. Penrose, 2 Optometrists, 2 Opticians, a great supportive Staff of about 20 employees and 2 locations. The two locations provide a small, intimate, medical office feel that allows our team to get to know our patients by name.

Our motto “Committed to the Health of your Eyes” reflects the mission of Eye MD Monterey to create an exceptional team of eye care professionals, technicians and administrative staff immersed in a culture that is supportive, caring, and focused on helping our patients experience life to its fullest by enabling them to see their best through healthy vision enhanced by glasses, contact lenses, or surgery.
