EXPECTATIONS Arrives on time and adheres to assigned schedule Works flexible or extended hours when necessary Participates in staff in-services and respects differing perspectives Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with organizational mission and objectives Maintains professionalism and performs duties to the best of ability DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Care Services Examine eyes using observation, instruments, and approved pharmaceutical agents to assess vision, coordination, and diagnose ocular conditions within optometric scope. Analyze diagnostic results and develop appropriate treatment plans. Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and vision aids. Prescribe medications for eye conditions where permitted by law. Remove foreign bodies from the eye when indicated. Document patient encounters in the electronic health record according to clinic standards, including diagnoses, treatments, referrals, and medications. Follow up on disease management cases and missed appointments. Review laboratory, imaging, and referral reports prior to filing. Coordinate patient education and follow-up for health education needs. Follow established clinical protocols and treatment guidelines. Consultation and Referrals Consult with medical leadership or physicians for complex cases beyond standard protocols. Refer patients to appropriate specialists or support services as needed. Teamwork and Administrative Responsibilities Participate in peer review processes. Attend quality improvement meetings and contribute as requested. Maintain referral networks and collaborative relationships. Refer patients to counseling, education, or support services when appropriate. Provide input to leadership regarding staffing, resources, equipment, and operational needs. Attend required staff and departmental meetings. Maintain productivity standards set by the health center. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education Graduation from an accredited Optometry program License Valid state Optometry license Certifications Current CPR/BLS certification required Skills Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Strong patient interaction and communication skills Commitment to preventive and chronic care programs Ability to work collaboratively with patients and staff Alignment with organizational mission and values EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full-time COMPENSATION Annual salary range approximately: $165,000 - $175,000 per annum.
