Job Description Summary
The Program Director /Instructor will be responsible for maintaining the Ophthalmic Technician program to include development of the labs, the curriculum, hiring the faculty, establishing clinical contracts and acquiring/maintaining Commission on Opticianry Accreditation (COA) The program director will also be responsible for developing the annual program budget.
Qualifications
Must have an Associates Degree and be a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) with three-five years work experience and three years teaching experience a plus.

Bachelor degree

3 to 5 years work experience and three years teaching experience in a

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Director/Instructor will be responsible for maintaining the Ophthalmic Technician program to include the development of the labs, the curriculum, hiring the faculty, establishing clinical contracts and acquiring and Maintaining COA accreditation. The Program Director will also be responsible for developing the annual program budget.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of a Ophthalmic Technician program, acquire and maintain COA accreditation, teach multiple courses in the discipline, function as a program leader. Must demonstrate the ability to develop curriculum and instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability tomunicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, gic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and, ability to observe the stated policies and prores of the College. Must be available to teach evenings and weekends in addition to day time weekly courses/clinical.
