Position Qualification Position Summary:
The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center ( UNMC ) in Omaha, NE, is recruiting a board eligible/board certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to provide general ophthalmic care including routine eye exam, laser, medical, and surgical care for all types of conditions of the eye and surrounding structures. This position includes opportunities for teaching, research, and patient care in a renowned academic environment. Faculty members enjoy the benefit of joining a well-established, expanding academic department with a collegial atmosphere that includes clinicians, basic scientists, and training professionals.
Ideal candidates will have an interest in pursuing a career encompassing robust clinical and surgical volumes, excellent clinical and basic science research opportunities as well as participation in outstanding residency and fellowship programs. Our Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute is a modern 54,000 square foot facility with a state of the art diagnostic center and experienced clinical research staff.
