Status: Regular Full-time (Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm / 8:30 am to 5 pm)
Location: 220 138 13th Street, North Vancouver BC (in-clinic position)

What youll do:

As part of the team, you'll be a key contact person for clients, physicians, staff, suppliers and guests, this team member is the voice and face of the company in many instances.

You'll be responsible for all areas related to Laboratory:

  • Performs tests and diagnostic examinations on patients including but not limited to tonometry, audiograms, visual acuity, phlebotomy, urine collection, resting ECGs and spirometry-based pulmonary tests, facilitates Holter Monitoring and 24hr Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
  • Processing and accessioning; shipping and analysis of samples
  • Conducts height & weight checks
  • Maintains all diagnostic equipment and liaise with medical equipment suppliers as required, and notifies manager when equipment needs to be serviced or replaced
  • Documents diagnostic results in the chart and enters results manually as required
  • Maintains supply of sterile instruments for use in procedures by monitoring use and cleaning, packing and autoclaving as needed
  • Researches and source supplies required by the clinic staff; orders medical supplies for the procedure room, orders vaccines
  • Access and manage the QA of lab processes
  • Interacts with testing laboratories as required
  • Collaborates with clinic staff both clinicians and administrative
  • Ensures in the booking of appointments that proper balance is maintained between client preferences and efficiency of the operation
  • Applies the TELUS Health Care Centres systems and processes for patient follow up and relationship building
  • Provides support to other staff as assigned
Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of practical work experience in phlebotomy and performing ECGs
  • Basic knowledge of desktop computer systems and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
  • CPR Certification
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate preferred
