The Field Reimbursement Manager, Eyecare acts as a non-clinical, in-office resource that is available to educate and address HCP questions about patient access and provide approved reimbursement support. The FRM is a field-based role, working in-person with HCP offices in the assigned geography, with the ability to address questions about patient access & reimbursement in support of AbbVie's Eye Care portfolio. The FRM provides expertise on coverage and reimbursement barriers to enhance the patient experience. Responsibilities include educating HCPs and supporting staff about access and reimbursement using AbbVie approved support tools, advising HCPs on patient prescription status, program eligibility, and educating offices on payer processes and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Educate HCPs using AbbVie approved access and reimbursement support tools and services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with providers, strategically prioritizing travel & activity across the entire FRM geography.
  • Be a subject matter expert on relevant local, regional, and national payer policies to appropriately educate providers on payer requirements.
  • Effectively work in a high cross-matrix environment, implementing appropriate ways of working communication with teams in sales, market access, and patient service peers.
  • Identify and report back payer trends of approved products to patient services and market access account management teams.
  • Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities.
  • Demonstrate agility to effectively incorporate the use of approved resources and data platforms to appropriately support HCP education initiatives that enhance the patient's experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree: biological sciences, business related field, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Pharma / Biotech/ Device Sales with field-based experience in account management, payer account management, and/or field-based account access and reimbursement.
  • Thorough understanding of the payer policy processes, published criteria and documentation for coverage, coding, prior authorization, and appeal processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the rules, regulations and risks associated with provision of reimbursement support services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial and governmental payer access dynamics
  • Demonstrated success in territory and account management skills, preferably in Eyecare
  • Overnight travel may be necessary to efficiently work this geography.
  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment
  • Valid driver's license: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.
  • An essential requirement of your position is to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations that are in your assigned territory. You must also be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • These HCIR credentialing requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases, fingerprinting and specific licenses required by individual state or cities. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements and for any associated liability for failing to do so.
