Optometric Technician / Ophthalmic Technician

Nova Southeastern University is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Optometric Technician to support our optometric clinic operations. This role is responsible for accurately entering patient data into electronic medical records, performing diagnostic eye tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinic protocols.

Position: Optometric Technician

Location: 16855 NE 2nd Ave Suite N400 North Miami Beach FL 33162

Schedule: 8:30 AM-5 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Perform and upload results from diagnostic tests (OCT, ocular photography, etc.)
• Ensure accurate EMR data entry and support compliance efforts
• Train staff and students on equipment and systems use
• Maintain and troubleshoot specialized ophthalmic equipment
• Serve as a liaison for medical records and communication

Qualifications:

• High School diploma + 2 years medical experience or Associate’s degree in a medical-related field
• Strong computer and data entry skills (MS Office, EMR systems)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish or Haitian Creole) and experience in eye care settings
