Optometrist

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to provide eye exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care for our patients. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, with a passion for improving vision and promoting eye health. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Comprehensive Eye Exams: Provide routine vision screenings and detailed eye exams to patients of all ages to assess visual acuity and detect a range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and more.

• Diagnose and Treat Vision Problems: Diagnose common vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.

• Collaborate with Surgeons: Work closely with our team of surgeons to provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing cataract or LASIK surgery.

• Patient Education: Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and the importance of regular eye exams. Provide guidance on eye protection and overall vision maintenance.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Patient Care: Offer compassionate, attentive, and professional care to all patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have about their eye health.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.

• Valid New Jersey state license to practice optometry.

• Experience with advanced diagnostic equipment, such as OCT and visual field testing (preferred, but not required).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain medical conditions and treatment options clearly to patients.
