Our optometrists are integral members of the team whose primary responsibility is to provide curated, high-quality eye care services to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate is focused on patient care and values collaborative and comprehensive eyecare.  

 

Positions Available: 

 

Full Time: 5 days/week (2 days in Boston, 3 days in Cambridge) 

Part Time: 2 days/week in Boston, MA 

Part Time: 3 days/week in Cambridge, MA 

Per Diem Coverage in Boston, MA and/or Cambridge, MA 

 

Locations: Boston, MA and/or Cambridge, MA - within SEE Eyewear 

 

Reports to: Practice Owner / Lead Optometrist 

 

Core Responsibilities & Attributes: 

Treat all patients and fellow staff in a welcoming and open-minded manner that is professional and caring 

Respect and maintain patient confidentiality in all aspects of care including use of electronic health information 

Contribute to the team effort by supporting all team members and maintaining an open and positive attitude 

Consistently and appropriately communicate with all members of the team and patients 

Consistent, methodical and organized approach to all aspects of the position 

Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain scientific information to patients 

Avid attention to detail 

 

Responsibilities: 

Perform comprehensive ocular examinations including contact lens fittings, visual and ocular examinations, triage and treat ocular emergencies 

Diagnose defects of the eye and visual system  

Provide personalized solutions to sight issues based on each patient’s specific case and medical history 

Prescribe medications, eyeglasses and contact lenses 

Advise patients on proper eye care techniques 

Maintain detailed, accurate and timely medical records for all patients 

Collaborate with other specialities, providers as needed 

Embody and demonstrate active engagement and collaboration with optical personnel 

 

Requirements and skills: 

OD Degree from accredited school of optometry 

Active Massachusetts License 

Dependability and punctuality 

A sense of humor 

Willingness to learn 

Independence and self-driven
