What is an Optometric Clinical Assistant?
An Optometric Clinical Assistant is our doctors right-hand man (or woman!) Our Clinical Assistants greet the patient, perform preliminary tests, scribe while the doctor evaluates the patient, assist in contact lens fittings if needed, bring the patient to optical and communicate the doctors treatment plan to our opticians.
What is the Purpose of this Position?
The top priority of this position is to assist the doctor perform vision tests to 1) enable the doctor to be more efficient and effective, 2) elicit the patients needs and communicate them to the doctor, and 3) help protect the patient flow so that all our patients have a great experience.

Your Duties:
This position combines customer service, clinical, and sales responsibilities. Applicant will:
* Perform preliminary diagnostic tests in the clinic (visual acuity, etc.).
* Teach contact lens insertion and removal.
* Fit and order contact lenses.
* Scribe for the doctor.
* Assist the doctor as needed.
* Assist patients in selecting frames.
* Make recommendations on the best lenses for the patients based on the patients needs.
* Explain to patients how their insurance benefits/discounts work.
* Provide statistics for weekly meetings.
* Perform data entry and assist in reception tasks.
* Perform light janitorial duties.

Employees can expect to arrive 15 minutes early and stay 15 to 30 minutes after closing each day to complete assigned tasks. Weekly mandatory meetings occur on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 am to 9:00 am.
