Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and compassionate Associate Optometrist to join our team in a busy and well-established optometry practice inside LensCrafters in Escondido. This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly and energetic optometrist who is looking to work in a collaborative and patient-focused environment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, deliver high-quality patient care, have excellent people skills, and work closely with our team of optometrists, technicians, and support staff. We are always looking for ways to grow our practice so this is an excellent opportunity for an optometrist who is eager to expand their clinical expertise and grow their professional skills by offering new services.
Coverage Days: Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays (weekends include extra bonus pay)
Responsibilities include:
- Comprehensive Eye Exams: Perform thorough eye examinations, including refraction, and ocular health assessments for diseases and disorders of the eye.
- Prescribe Eyewear & Contact Lenses: Write prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses, ensuring patients receive the most appropriate corrective lenses based on their needs.
- Diagnose & Treat Eye Conditions: Diagnose, treat, and co-manage a variety of ocular conditions.
- Patient Education & Empowerment: Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and the importance of regular eye exams. Work with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that empower them to take an active role in their eye care.
- Manage Patient Records: Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of patient history, exam findings, and treatment plans using our electronic health record (EHR) system Revolution EHR.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry
- Active state licensure to practice optometry in California
- Passion for lifelong learning and expanding the scope of practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, patient-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on patient education and satisfaction.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing the highest level of patient care.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply!
