You will be an integral team member in a practice that is part of a larger network of clinics and Surgery Centers in Colorado, Arizona and Texas. Our dream candidate is someone who challenges themselves to be better every day, always works for the patient and is eager to work for the good of the team in most every situation.  The practice has two sub-specialty surgeons maintaining a busy cataract/refractive practice along with advanced glaucoma and cornea care. You will work alongside our elite surgeons delivering world class anterior segment care, as well as with other area Optometrists to maintain and grow a strong Co-Management network. Experience in pre- and post-operative care in refractive cataract surgery, LASIK, glaucoma and/or cornea is highly desirable. The essential functions of our Optometrists include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for performing all aspects of patient care within the clinic including patient exams and consultations, surgery treatment plans and post-operative care in accordance with ICON's standards and efficiency, and demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and clinical judgment.
  • Efficiently delivering patient care through constant evaluation of patient's needs (i.e. performing specific tests as defined by patient concerns, etc.
  • Acts as a resource for all information; assists with training, managing and motivating all clinical staff.
  • Trains and develops interns/residents to ensure ICON quality and efficiency is achieved in order to maintain a pipeline of optometric talent.
  • Facilitates the Clinical Director in creating and sustaining a highly accountable and inspired work environment where employees can deliver exceptional customer service and patient care.
  • Trains and develops new optometric hires to ensure they provide top-quality patient care at an efficient pace and assimilate into ICON's philosophies as quickly as possible.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Passion for providing an excellent patient experience
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Optometry
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, a valid license to practice in the state of Colorado
  • Proficiency in pathology, diagnosing, and prescribing medications
  • Experience with managing LASIK, cataracts, and upgraded lenses is a plus
