Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Optometrist to join our eye care team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating patients with visual problems and managing ocular diseases. Your clinical skills and patient-first approach will play a vital role in maintaining the high standard of care our practice is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision tests
Diagnose sight problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism
Detect eye diseases and disorders, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses
Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and overall eye health
Maintain accurate patient records and care documentation
Collaborate with opticians and ophthalmologists as needed
Stay current with developments in optometry and continuing education
Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school
Valid state optometry license
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Detail-oriented with excellent diagnostic skills
Commitment to providing exceptional patient care
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a private practice or retail optometry setting
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Bilingual abilities a plus
