We are a professional and customer-centric practice looking for a full-time optician. We're a well established practice, with locations in Lake Zurich (20yrs) and Wheeling (40yrs). We have a great and stable client base that has been built over many years. We practice full scope optometry, including diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, cataract and laser co-management.
As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent eye care services and assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses or contact lenses. Your exceptional communication skills and in-depth knowledge of optical products and prescriptions will ensure optimal customer satisfaction and contribute to the overall success of our vision care practice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized and professional assistance to customers in selecting eyeglasses, frames, lenses, and contact lenses based on their vision needs, preferences, and prescriptions.
- Conduct comprehensive eye measurements and assessments, including pupillary distance, frame sizing, and facial measurements, to ensure accurate fitting and optimal visual performance.
- Interpret and analyze optical prescriptions, considering various factors such as lens type, thickness, coatings, and materials to recommend suitable eyewear options.
- Educate customers on lens options, lens care, frame styles, and available enhancements to help them make informed decisions regarding their eyewear.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to accurately dispense and fit lenses into frames, ensuring proper alignment, centering, and adjustment for optimal comfort and visual clarity.
- Provide guidance and instructions to customers on the proper use, handling, and maintenance of contact lenses, including insertion, removal, cleaning, and storage.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and minor eyeglass modifications, such as replacing nose pads, tightening screws, and aligning frames to ensure proper fit and functionality.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer information, prescriptions, orders, and transactions using electronic systems or manual logs.
- Collaborate effectively with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other eye care professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and new products to provide expert recommendations and enhance the quality of service offered to customers.
- Adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and privacy standards to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
